31st October being the last day of the Battle of Britain we have come to the end of this day to day record of the Battle.
We have enjoyed doing this as much as we hope you have appreciated it. It has been a great experience. As many have remarked it brings home both the length of the Battle and the huge devotion to continued fighting shown by the participants.
We are particularly grateful to the many of you who have written comments on the Battle. They have added enormously to the interest of the whole thing and thank you very much for sending them.
That’s it for now, all the very best to all our followers.
Tony, Zoe, James and Harriet

This blog has been fascinating to follow. Many congratulations for capturing and delivering the spirit of the Battle of Britain, and presenting the messages it imparts to future generations so clearly. This must now be one of the first points of reference when researching the individual days of the Battle of Britain. You Blog is a tremendous tribute to The Few.
I have been sharing stories throughout the 70th anniversary about my Great Uncle’s personal experiences during the Battle (72 616 and 41 Squadron). Although John died in his Spitfire shortly after the Battle of Britain, John’s story continues today.
Please help support ongoing heritage projects. Sergeant John Stanley
Gilders’ story has been followed on the Battle of Britain Blog on
Twitter; Here’s were his story ends, and his legacy begins…

What an excellent and informative series which brought to life so many of the participants, some already very well known and many who are not, but to all of whom we owe such an incalculable debt.
Many many thanks

Thank you Tony Rudd for making the Battle of Britain come alive in “real time” almost. From your excellent daily posts we have learned a lot about forgotten incidents of the battle and forgotten men and incidents.
I have put links for this on the Battle of Britain Historical Society website forum and have enjoyed sharing the information to a wider audience.
Thank you, we will miss the daily updates. For me today, 2nd November 2010, is the day 70 years ago when one of the greatest of The Few, Archie McKellar of 605 Squadron was killed still fighting the Battle of Britain (but outside of the official timeline, so is not counted on the roll of honour).

A daily report certainly heightened the tension of the story of the battle & became a must read every morning. An excellent use of the computer. The books will record the data and will again be a must read. Well done all.
Thanks

Viewed the movie, read all the books, built the models, and attended the airshows…but this project and blog really ties it all together for me.
